We're so lucky that my mom has been able to visit so many times this far in Mary Ellen's life. So far, Grandma has made a visit (or we've been up to see her) at one point in each month of her life. Pretty good, considering that we live 1,000 miles away, no?
Last week, we had a nice week-long visit with Grandma. I love these long visits because we get to do normal, everyday things. Don't get me wrong, I love it when we have special visits from family members that involve excursions to the coast or the theme parks, but there's also something to be said for sharing a home-cooked meal and a day doing laundry that somehow makes me feel that we don't live so far away (plus, Mom is sooo helpful when she's here).
So we spent the week running errands and doing home improvement projects and of course, taking pictures. It was a wonderful, wonderful week, and I hope she plans another visit very soon. We all love our Grandma Time.
No visit from Grandma would be complete without a series of photo shoots. We visited Leu Gardens and Mead Gardens this time.
The weather was perfect, but Mary Ellen did need have to pull out the sweaters (after all, it is January). This yellow one was mine when I was a baby.
Mom was such a huge help this week. She helped me to complete the stone veneer that I've been working on since before I was pregnant. That's right. It's taken well over a year, but it looks great. Woo hoo!
It must be the little yellow sweater because ME sure looks like baby Lisa in that photo. It looks like you 3 had a great time, as always!
